U-Boot
The U-Boot Universal Bootloader project provides firmware with full
source code under GPL. Many CPU architectures are supported: PowerPC(MPC5xx,
MPC8xx, MPC82xx, MPC7xx, MPC74xx, 4xx), ARM(ARM7, ARM9, StrongARM, Xscale),
MIPS(4Kc,5Kc), x86 and others. The U-Boot project emerged from the PPC-Boot
project when more than just PPC CPU's started to be supported. The primary
project leaders are my partners at DENX
but due to the OpenSource nature of the project they are happy to accept
any patches and new BSP's written by other developers.
U-Boot and RTEMS
I made a small addition to U-Boot that makes it possible to boot PPC-RTEMS
images with U-Boot. For more information see my
